Parque Tantauco, which encompasses 118,000 hectares (291,600 acres), is located in the south of Chiloé Island, in the district of Quellón, Region X (Los Lagos Region).  Geographically speaking, the Park lies 43.5 degrees north; 43.1 degrees south; 73.6 degrees west and 74.4 degrees east.   

The Tantauco territory is located south west of the island, to the south of the Parque Nacional Chiloé (Chiloé National Park) and to the west of Quellón. Access to the park is via the sea in the Inio zone and via land in the zone that comprises the Chaiguata and Chaiguaco lakes.
